The Japanese Navy aircraft carrier Taiho was the first to be built with armor on the flight deck. She was sunk by the U.S. Navy's submarine Albacore in June 1944.

This kit was released in collaboration with Beaver Corporation, and is a completely new mold! In addition to the items contained in the regular version of this full-hull kit, a detail-up parts set is also included. The kit includes two Type 0 fighter aircraft, Type 52, two carrier-based attack aircraft, Tianshan, two carrier-based bombers, Comet, and two Type 99 carrier-based bombers.
