Neptune Mission is a compact DIY wooden mechanical model inspired by one of the most significant naval events of the early stages of the war in Ukraine. Designed as part of the Age of Bravery collection, the model recreates the launch of a Neptune anti-ship missile against the cruiser Moskva using a simple but effective moving mechanism.

The model references the sinking of the Russian Black Sea Fleet flagship in April 2022, an event that became widely recognised as a symbolic and strategic moment in the conflict. It also connects to the story of Snake Island, whose defenders became internationally known for their refusal to surrender during the opening days of the invasion.

The Neptune Mission model depicts a Ukrainian R-360 Neptune missile launcher firing at the cruiser Moskva. As the mechanism operates, both the missile and the ship move towards one another, while a guided sliding mechanism causes the cruiser to tilt and sink on impact. The front of the model is engraved with the coordinates marking the location where the Moskva sank in the Black Sea.

Designed for quick and accessible assembly, the model contains just 44 parts and can typically be completed in around 30 minutes. The simple mechanics make it an ideal introduction to wooden mechanical modelling for beginners, while still offering satisfying interactive movement and display value.

All components are precision laser-cut from quality plywood and fit together without glue or special tools. Illustrated step-by-step instructions guide the assembly process, making the build suitable for hobbyists, families and casual model makers alike.
